Event Information

A full day workshop with sessions from all three of our piping instructors. This workshop is geared towards advanced pipers that are eligible to compete in Grades 2 and 1. A practice chanter and bagpipes are required for these sessions. Each session is 1 hour 15 min in length with a 15 min break between sessions.
 
Session 1: Ian K. MacDonald
EFFICIENCY, TONE AND QUALITY BAGPIPES: Come have your instrument assessed following a discussion on everything tone related.  This is NOT a Pipe Maintenance class. Bagpipe is required.
 
Session 2: Bob Worrall
THE SEARCH FOR LESS CONVENTIONAL 2/4 MARCHES & HORNPIPES: We will apply musical and technical strategies to a couple of contemporary/less often heard tunes. A 'hands on' session.

Session 3: Bob Worrall
GETTING THE MOST OUT OF COMPETITIVE STRATHSPEYS & REELS: Applying musical and technical strategies to a couple of tunes from each category. Another 'hands on' session.
 
Session 4: Michael Grey
PIOBROCH PREP: Interpret a new tune with cantairoch and a cold score.
