The Small Things is a story told through dance and spoken word and video featuring performances by nearly 50 remarkable local artists and performers with different abilities. Working with several talented choreographers, the performers have created original dance pieces that range from whimsical to awe-inspiring. As the story opens, we meet H’artists taking a dance class along the Kingston waterfront while enjoying nature. Out of the blue, a construction crew starts to set up bright orange pylons. They are building a new road. It will be efficient, modern, and most importantly, it will be BIG! Progress — a great thing — or is it? In our rush toward the future, do we risk losing the small things that many can’t see and even fewer know how to value? The Small Things is a spirited, narrated dance performance unlike anything you’ve seen.
